EVENTS

The Omphalos Magick Moot
presents

The Hermetic Tradition
a talk by Michael Clarke.

The idea of an all powerful being Hermes Trismegistus has played a central role in the development of the esoteric tradition of the West up to the present day. The Hermetic tradition came into being in the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Roman Egypt, survived throughout the Middle Ages and came back into full prominence at the Renaissance. Although having a reputation of being difficult, the Hermetic Tradition in Magic can be a clear and concise method of working with the deities of many traditions unconfined by considerations of locality and ethnicity.

Sunday 8th August 2010

Upstairs at the
St James Wine Vaults
St James Square, Bath BA1 2TW.

2pm for a 2.30pm start

Cost: £5.00 donation - this enables us to continue bringing you such a diverse and wonderful range of guest speakers.

The Omphalos Magick Moot will continue in the afternoon with a talking stick style discussion. Regular Omphalos meetings are on the second Sunday of each month, upstairs at the St James Wine Vaults.

Gerald Brosseau Gardner,
the "Father of Modern Witchcraft".

at Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Street, Holborn, London
.
Doors open at 10.00am

Guests of Honour: Professor Ronald Hutton, Philip Heselton,
Fred Lamond, Lois Bourne and Zachary Cox.

We are very proud to welcome our panel of experts which we have just finalised: They are all directly influenced by Gerald Gardner and come via: Eleanor Bone, Madge and Arthur Worthington and Jean Williams and Zachary Cox. We are pleased to announce their names: Julia Phillips, Vivianne Crowley, Morgana (Silver Circle), Rufus Harrington, Prudence Jones.

Enjoy browsing the Spiritual Souk
over 20 stalls containing a huge array of pagan and Wiccan goodies including many handmade items and works of art.

“You don’t have to be Gardnerian to attend, be informed or enjoy this event. All you need is an open mind and the desire to learn more about our Witchcraft roots; our heritage. No matter how you feel about the man, his work together with Doreen’s influence has paved the way for us to practice what we preach and has given the entire Pagan movement credibility.” Brian Botham – Our Master of Ceremonies

So come and join us for an extra magickal day
with our guests and stallholders.

The Oakenwood Society

Weekend Courses on Herb Lore

Oakenwood Society is a voluntary group of people that enjoy learning and teaching on the subject of herbs.
In 2010 we will again be running a series of weekend courses, hosted on a farm set between Bristol and Cardiff, where you can relax, unwind, and learn some of the secrets that herbs contain. Learn how to grow and prepare herbs, discover how they may be used, make herbal skin products, ointments and creams, and much more.
We are easy-going, into the “hands on approach” of doing things, and not paid for what we do!

For those who may be interested, there is also the opportunity for getting involved in the group itself.

The Oakenwoods website offers extensive information on herbs, more details on the courses and an online forum, or E-mail us.

BERKSHIRE PAGANS

Berkshire's Pagan Community
We are a friendly, informal and inclusive group of people and warmly welcome all those with a sincere interest in Paganism in Berkshire. Berkshire Pagans aims to bring together all Pagans in Berkshire regardless of spiritual path or persuasion, whether you practise alone or meet with others. Non Pagans who want to chat to us and find out more are equally welcome.
Berkshire Pagans is an open group, we do not have members or an inner circle, we are simply Pagan people from Berkshire and the surrounding areas who would like to meet and get to know other local Pagans both on-line and face to face.
We arrange meet-ups in the Newbury / Thatcham and Reading areas. We have chosen to break with tradition and not have formal moots at a set time and venue each month as these have had limited success in Berkshire. Instead all events are organised amongst our on-line community on Zetaboards at: Berkshire Pagans

1st Sunday, "Back of Beyond", King St. Reading
Pagan group meeting in Reading, members are mainly from Reading and the surrounding areas of Berkshire, Bracknell & Maidenhead. We have open circle rituals, talks and other events. We are open to all friendly pagans
Reading Familiars Pagan Group

The Coven of the Night Mares
We are a non-dominational group of female Witches, based in the Reading Berks, UK area, that come together to share, learn and celebrate all things mystical and magical.
Those of you on the Pagan Path are welcome to join us as we share our knowledge and experiences at our monthly meets.
We welcome all genuine seekers who are followers of the old way's.
Please give a brief description of yourself and your chosen path on joining our group.
Blessings        Wort and Blod
